A Study on Job Analysis for Elderly Care Facility Workers Using DACUM Job Analysis Technique

Abstract
This study analyzed elderly care facility employees¡¯ duties, job specifications, and task specifications using the DACUM job analysis. According to the results of the analysis, there were 13 jobs and 80 tasks at elderly care facilities. The 80 tasks were divided into caring works and supporting works, and the caring works were again classified according to job performance procedure. In addition, for the 13 kinds of job, we analyzed elderly care facility workers¡¯ job specifications and derived working conditions, and required knowledge and skills. According to the results of the analysis of job specifications, among the caring works the most important task was counseling on admission, the most urgent task was first aid, and the most difficult tasks were the assessment of inmates and the setting of service goals. Among the supporting works, the most important and urgent task was the employee selection and appointment, and the most difficult task was personnel rating.
